By integrating your AShop V with an Amazon AWS account, you can use Amazons content delivery service Cloudfront to deliver streaming video. When a customer buys a product with streaming video from your shop, they will be presented with a View button instead of the standard Download button in the digital goods delivery area. Clicking the View button will bring up a list of available video streams and let the customer view them using the JWPlayer video player application, which is integrated with the delivery area.
The video streams are protected with the private content protection of Cloudfront, which means that a video URL is only available for playback for a short period of time, which is automatically reset and restarted each time the customer views the content through your AShop delivery area. This way you can still have the number of days and number of downloads restrictions on the content, like with standard downloadable content, to keep your video clips safe from unauthorized sharing and distribution.
This feature can be used together with all other delivery and product type options in AShop, which means that you can, for example, sell a software as a download and include a set of instruction videos on how to use the software that the customer can view online. Or you can ship a physical item and provide online video streams that show how to assemble the item. You can of course also sell items that are purely video streams.
Setting your AWS account and AShop up to use this feature can be a bit complicated, but is detailed in the following topics with step by step instructions. |
