Language Selection For The Retail Catalog and Customer Messages
The language that is displayed in the retail catalog and in receipts to retail customers can be selected and set as a preference for each customer. If no language is selected, the preference defaults to the main language selected by the shop owner on the page Configuration->Shop Parameters in the admin panel.
The preferred language is set in a cookie by using the drop down list on the storefront or by navigating to the language.php script and then clicking on a language icon/link. It can also be set in a link to the language.php script if a language parameter is appended to the URL, which can be used to link to a specific language from any web page.

New installation packages for AShop include only the English language set.

Language selection can only be done for language sets that have been installed in AShop.
